The unique QR Code embedded in Digit.ink's credentials provides an extra layer of security by providing another verification method.
First, issuers add a QR code placeholder to the credential design. When the credentials are issued, Digit.ink’s system puts each credential’s QR code there. This QR code is the URL of the credential.
QR codes are especially useful for organizations using physical credentials—like paper diplomas or plastic ID cards—because it gives them the full security capabilities (including cryptography) provided by the digital versions.
Anyone can scan the code to confirm the authenticity and validity of a Digit.ink credential.
